Welcome to my blog!

If a picture speaks a thousand words then I like for my photographs to speak a novel; not necessarily a novel which tells of fantastical knights and maidens but rather one which touches upon the fascinating realness and uniqueness of the human story. What photography holds is the key to unlock a glimpse into the life of an individual within a given moment of time. I strive to bring out pieces of the unfolding story through an artistically photojournalistic eye in concert with the heart; documenting a situation down to the finest of details. For even the simplest of details is yet another piece in shaping the big picture. In my mind's eye each client has their own story to speak through the photographic image; in that I like to simply let things happen, to unfold naturally if you will, in order to come to the truest of memories for your keepsake.
About Michele
A little about myself, I was born in the great city of Chicago, Illinois; currently spending many of my days in beautiful Colorado. My love of photography was fueled when my Dad gave me my first 35mm SLR camera at age 16, then entered a darkroom and witnessed the magic of photography firsthand. I was no less than bewitched by the very art and process which somehow fed my artistic and nostalgic sides through visual imagery. Needless to say, over the years my primary focus of study has been photography and art; holding a Masters in Photography from Columbia College in Chicago.I am fascinated with the continual flux of the quality of light and color. As well as, intrigued by people, not only for the stories each individual holds but also for their unique personality, gestures, emotion, reaction and interaction with others. To take a moment in time and preserve it visually is to capture a memory to be shared with generations to come. When these are caught within a photograph it brings a certain timelessness to a documented memory which is nothing less than priceless.
Two of my favorite projects have been with Arts of Life and Esperanza school in Chicago. Teaching, working with and photographing the artists and students of these two organizations has been a true gift of which I am honored to have participated.
When I am not photographing people, nature or city, I enjoy spending time with my son, friends and family; hiking, biking, swimming, health and fitness (juicing and gym), painting, listening to music, movies, theatre, travel.
